2.0 Diagrams?

David Armano/Logic+Emotion has generously collected together all of his ‘2.0 visualisations‘ (my description) for download and discussion.
The suffix 2.0 is increasingly used to define lots of new stuff happening with technology or just the people working with it, but what exactly does it mean?
Well most of the time it simply means ‘the next version of’ a bit like a software update. Other times it’s used as a way of describing a paradigm shift: a sudden reorganisation of the mental model used to understand something. (Web entrepreneurs seem to really like this version!)
In general terms it’s easier to think of 2.0 in terms of people, particularly more people getting involved in the origination, execution and consumption of stuff. (I think?)
2.0 thinking is also related to crowdsourcing, peerproduction and user-generated content. But these terms are still contested and are only useful in particular contexts.
Of course, no sooner has 2.0 become an orthodoxy people have already set their sights on 3.0 (limited to web3.0, at present), which to my mind concerns the meeting of technology/stuff, people and virtual people/stuff, which is to say, people2.0. (Yes, I just made that up!)
Anyway, here are some del.icio.us and technorati tags for the most common uses of 2.0. But before you click, please tell us, what do you think about all this 2.0 stuff. Is it helpful? Does it really enable us understand how the world is changing or does it simply obfuscate and limit the conversation to only those who enjoy inventing new terms?
